The perfect length to protect those precious knees, you’ll be good to go for every play date with our pocket shorts pattern. Drawstring waist and side pockets will quickly make this a summer staple — oh, and did we mention it’s also a quick sew?

MATERIALS:

Knit fabric for the legs. AMOUNT NEEDED- 0.25 yards for sizes 0-3M to 9-12M, 0.5 yards for sizes 12-18M to 5-6T
Knit fabric for waistband. We like using a medium weight, cotton/elastane blend jersey. A rib knit will work as well. AMOUNT NEEDED- 0.25 yards for all sizes
1 yard of drawstring for the waist. We use a 1" wide strip of knit fabric

MACHINES:

Sewing machine
Overlock machine / Serger – If you don't own one, you can use a small zig-zag stitch in place of the serged seam.
