A summer shorts pattern that works with so many fabrics!  We love the raw hem with a ribbed knit or french terry, a thin jersey rolled up at the hem or a bold print finished with a classic hem!  

Square back pockets and an inseam panel make these classic and cozy to lounge around in. 

 

MATERIALS:

  • Knit fabric. Medium weight jersey, lightweight french terry are recommended
  • AMOUNT NEEDED: 0.5 yards for sizes 6 to 8
  • 0.75 yards for sizes 10 to 14
  • Rib knit for waistband. You can use your main fabric if it has a similar stretch amount to a rib.
  • AMOUNT NEEDED: 0.25 yards for all sizes
  • Elastic for waistband: 1.25" wide

MACHINES:

  • Sewing machine
  • Overlock machine / Serger – If you don't own one, you can use a small zig-zag stitch in place of the serged seam.
